Gas Direct Nitrogen (Food grade) Gas Cylinders
Nitrogen replaces the oxygenated air within the packaging and drives out moisture in order to prolong the shelf life and preserving freshness of the food within the packaging. Additionally, it is an odourless and tasteless gas so therefore will not affect the overall flavour of the food.
MAP was introduced to food production as there was more than 1.8 million tonnes of food waste created by food manufacturers each year.
This gas is a permitted additive by the FSA (Food Standard Agency) to be used as a packing gas, propellant gas and preservative only.
